Is DSL or satellite internet from DirecTV a better option for me?

The type of broadband internet service that will best meet your needs will depend on where you live, how much you are willing to spend, and how you use the internet. For those in remote communities that do not receive telephone service or cable television through landlines, satellite internet is frequently the only choice. DSL connection rates range from 1 to 7 Mbps whereas satellite internet connection rates range from 1 to 5 Mbps. Satellite internet requires that the user have a satellite modem, a satellite dish, and an unobstructed line of sight with the satellite. Satellite internet is able to make internet accessible to many places that have been offline for many years.

I live in a rural area of the United States and already subscribe to DirecTV for satellite television. Why should I consider adding satellite internet service?
